It all depends on what you want to use it for. Laptops are, of course, by definition, portable.
When it comes to price comparison, a desktop is usually quite a bit cheaper for equivalent power. For instance, laptops with high end video cards will cost you quite a bit more than a desktop with one.
Also, you can upgrade desktop computers, while other than changing out the hard drive and adding memory you usually can't upgrade a laptop.

Laptops are better in the fact they are portable,. convenient etc.. and are pretty powerful. however if your a die hard gamer or need more juice/power a desk top is the way to go and they are cheaper when it comes to power vs. money. good luck

laptop, because you can be mobile with a laptop and miove around you can even take it with you and not have to wory about wires
