They meet but there families dont like eachother so they cant date, Juliet is supposed to marry someone else. They decide to go out together in secret but naughty Romeo gets in a fight with Juliets cousin Tybalt and kills him by mistake. He then has to leave Verona where they live. They get married to eachother in secret but Juliet then has to marry Paris, so she gets some special medicine to make her go to sleep so people think she has died. She asks her nurse to tell Romeo but he doesnt get the message and thinks she is really dead! he then goes and sees her and takes poison to kill himself and then poor Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo is dead so she stabs herself and dies to be with him in heaven.
Maybe u would be better off being a bit vague on the poison and the stabbing. You dont want to scare her.

Ok, Basically Romeo was from one family and Juliet was from another. The families did not see eye to eye and were really enemies. But Romeo fell in love with Juliet and vice-versa. The secretly got married. Then Romeo gets banished from the city.
Juliet's father wants her to marry another guy called Paris. In order to get around this, Juliet decides to take some potion that will simulate death (and Romeo is to come and take her away).
So she takes the potion but Romeo comes back to find her (and everyone thinks she's dead) so he kills himself with poison (because he can't live without her). Then Juliet wakes up and realises what has happened and she stabs herself and dies.
Not the most apt story for a 6 year old but hopefully you'll be able to explain it. Check out the link for a bigger picture.

There were two families who hated each other, the Montagues and Capulets. But Romeo, a Montague, falls in love with Juliet, a Capulet. Both families violently disapprove. Tybalt, Juliets cousin, kills one of Romeos friends and fights with Romeo, who kills him. Because of this, Romeo is exiled. To escape from an arranged marriage, Juliet takes a potion that makes her APPEAR to be dead. Romeo, thinking his true love is dead, takes his own life. Juliet awakes and finds Romeo dead, and takes her own life too. 'For never was a story of more woe // Than this of Juliet and her Romeo.'
Thats the main details, hoped it helped... Hope it aint to complicated

Romeo and Juliet is one of William Shakespeare's most famous plays. It tells the story of Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet, two teenagers living in the town of Verona, Italy, and also the tragic story of what happens when they fall in love and marry, while keeping it a secret from their feuding families.
Then Juliet's mother finds her a future husband. But Juliet is already married to Romeo, so she pretends to die. Romeo sees this and is shocked. But he does not know that Juliet is just faking her death and so sadly he takes a poison and dies. Juliet wakes up and sees Romeo dead, so she takes his dagger and kills herself. In the end the two lovers lay dead together.

R has a cousin who gets on with both sides.
R gatecrashes a party at J's house, see's her, falls in love but doesn't know that she's the daughter of his swarn enemy. J's parents have her booked in for an arranged marriage. On night of her wedding she runs away with romeo and they plan to get married.
J's relative (think brother) kills R's cousin so they realise that their families will never let them be together. R goes home to mourn.
J go back to kindly preist who wed them (almost wed them?) and he gives her a druaght to make her seem like she's dead. Then when she awakes R and her can run away and live happily ever after. Unfortunalty R doesn't hear of the plan and just sees her lying in state before her funeral. So he kills himself with poison next to her body. J wakes up sees him dead and finding no poison left kills herself with his dagger.
bit vague but enought to get past a 6 year old.

Romeo & Juliet belong to 2 wealthy & powerful families who dislike each other intensly. R & J meet & fall pasionately in love. They marry in secret, hoping that their marriage will stop the feud between their families. However, Juliet's father wants her to marry Paris, a wealthy young Count. Romeo kills Tybalt, one of Juliet's family & Romeo has to leave Verona (where the play is set,) immediately. In the meantime Juliet takes a drug given to her by Friar Lawrence; this makes her appear dead. The plan is that she will be placed in the family vault & that The Friar will send a message to Romeo, telling him to return secretly to take her away. The message never reaches Romeo & when he comes to the vault he believes that Juliet is dead. He takes poison & dies beside her. Juliet wakes from her drugged sleep & finds Romeo dead. In dispair she stabs herself. Friar Lawrence explains to the two families what has happened & they are reconciled. I think it's wonderful that your daughter likes the play. I hope this helps!

This is about as basic as I can think of to explain to a 6 year old.
They fell in love but their families were great enemies & would've never let them be together. Because of that, they died with each other so that they could be together forever in heaven.
I don't know if you're religious though so I don't know if that last part would work. I'm not religious myself but that's about the only way I could think to explain that to a child that small. Hope this helped at least somewhat.........

Wow... You have a lot of faith in the emotional understanding of a 6 year old child to allow her to view anything on U-tube and read Shakespeare.
Trust me... Let her play with barbies.
My son was reading Shakespeare at 3 and even though you want to believe it makes her special, (as this display case of a question offers us, in lieu of an assumption.) it will only make her bored when she gets around others that will simply not get her tastes and understanding... and even if you do special school her... SHE WILL get around others that don't get her eventually. and people who are made to feel inadequate by comparison... are rather vicious!
Intelligence often makes for a bored, lonely, antisocial child... I learned this before it was too late. Although it broke my heart to allow my son to step down and regulate his intelligence to those other kids around him. His life and heath and mental well being is not all about what I want or need.
I used to show him off everywhere I went... Until I realized that people are not commonly impressed by it but rather threatened by it. Now, he keeps it in check and doesn't spark riots in those who are of a more common base and foundation. Protect her first, and teach her moderation always... Otherwise you will raise a super genius who is nothing more than a pariah.
