Dude I had a 87 Suzuki Samurai.....you're Jimnys great great grand pa!
I drove mine through at least a 24"-30" creek here in S. California. As long as you don't let up on the gas and suck in water through the filter/air intake.....it should do fine. Get yourself a nice lift or at least some good tires like BFG ATs.
Check out the link below for goodies for your Jimny.
As far as water leaking into the axles......what a dip sheet answer!

The Suzuki Jimny isn't a Jeep. How can a Suzuki be a Jeep. it extremely is like asserting that a Toyota is a Chrysler. And no, a Suzuki Jimny isn't a sturdy automobile in comparison with a Jeep Wrangler because of fact it somewhat is created from plastic and not steel.

Assuming that your Jimny is in standard, unmodified condition, the maximum wading depth is 650mm.

It depends on if you have a snorkel kit fitted to the exhaust or not. then it will be up until the point where the sparkie/electrics are submerged. Basically, once the exhaust or the electrics on the engine are submerged - it's game over. Obviously if you have the engine bay sealed and a snorkel on the exhaust, it will be until the car starts floating...........

up to the bottom of the axles is about it without modifications. Any deeper and you could get water leaking into the axles through the oil seals if they are not sealing perfectly (just because you don;t see a leak doesn't mean they seal perfectly) or through the vent and driving with water in there will likely cause major problems pretty quickly.
