My Best Friend and I are taking a road trip to Alabama. We were going to go to Gulf Shores but want to try and visit a quaint little coastal town. We still want activities but not a place that is overrun with tourists. Does anyone have any suggestions? Our only requirements is that it is on the ocean and has some nice places to stay. Thanks

I think you need to re-think your geography. In the first place no Alabama town is on any ocean. The Gulf Shores area which includes Orange Beach and Perdido Key ARE on the Gulf of Mexico. This is all a resort area and will have tourists. The nearest small, quaint town like you are seeking would be Fairhope, Alabama which is right outside of Mobile, approximately an hours drive from the Gulf Shores area. The water there is Mobile Bay.
