the greatest? no. guns n roses started in the late 80's, so they can't even be considered as the greatest band of the 80's. if you're gonna split hairs and say you asked axl rose, that puts him even further down as he would be nothing without the rest of the group. 90's? still have to say no as this was when the band was on their decline, plus the fact that axl's voice was beginning to falter as well as the band as a whole. there are too many bands from the 80's that still ar together. U2, REM, the stones (puke).
so, as many thumbs downs as i'm gonna get, my reply is NO. maybe if they lasted a decade, it might have a chance of being yes.
axl rose can throw a mean bottle in st louis tho, so props to that
