Here is a round the year choice list for you, specially for Goldfish, feeding them 2-3 times a day is good enough as a choice:

Flake GoldFish Food
Flake fish foods come in many different types example for the growth of wens, color enhancer and other things. If this food is good for you then a good tip is due, soak the fish food for at least 1 min then give it to the fish. This will cause the fish food to sink to the bottom and no air in the fish's stomach.

Pellet goldfish Food
Pellet fish foods come in many different types example for the growth of wens, color enhancer and other things. They also come in sinking (my favorite) and they floating kind. Pellet fish food should be soaked before giving them to the fish. When they are made they are compressed but there is air still in the food, just watch them when you place them in some water, you will see air bubbles coming out of the fish food. This is what is going into your fish and some fish cant handle this. I strongly suggest soaking any floating or sinking pellet fish foods for atleast 2 mins.

Frozen fish Food
Frozen fish foods come in all sorts of flavors and are a great treat for the gold fish. You should be careful when feeding them frozen fish foods, look for the ones that say bacterial free because they could cause problems if they hadn't been handled correctly. Most of them need to be soaked first for easy eating but some of them you can just drop in and let them nibble on the fish food as they thaw in the tank.

Gelatin fish Food
Gelatin fish foods are harder to find in most pet stores. Formula one and two foods made by LakeOcean Nutrition is a good one if you can find it. You can make it your self too if you have the time. Gelatin fish Food Make sure that when you are feeding it to your fish that you thaw it out in bowl of tank water and then crush in your hand as you drop it in your tank this makes it easier for the fish to eat it.

Home fish Foods
Some fish foods that you and I eat the Goldfish can eat to for example: Romaine lettuce, Peas cooked, earthworms, eggs, cucumber, insect larvae, grapes, oranges, and spinach.

Hope this helps..

Lots of veggies are great treats for goldfish. They provide vitamins and minerals that aren't in flake food and will make for much more healthy fish in the long run. Lettuce, most kinds of squash, peas,... it's a long list.

Feed your fish twice a day about as much as they will eat in 5 minutes or so. WIth the fresh foods you can give them more time as eating can go slower if they are biting off peices of the food. Some people say to feed only once a day, but twice has been shown to be a superior method for growth and health.

Adding fresh foods will pollute the tank if you are not careful to remove the excess soon after the fish eat. It can go an hour without a problem, but not much longer than that.

it depends on the kind of fish you have. and what you are feeding them to begin with. my fish like frozen blood worms. or worms period. when you put it in the top of the water it melts and breaks apart for the fish to eat. you can find them at some pet stores such as petsmart, petco, specialty fish stores. if it is live bait you are feeding you fish depending on size only one or two and as for food flakes for fish once should be enough for a day. overfeeding a fish is fatal..... you might want to also ask a professional or someone who deals with different species of fish because certain fish need certain dietary needs campared to others.

i feed mine non iceberg Lettus, algae tabs, tiny amounts of frozen brine shrimp. i don't think regular fruits and veggies are a good idea, they will probably rot and cause probs in your tank before the fish get a tastse for them!
