no this is not a racist gesture. Keep UK jobs in the UK or else there will only be a handful of people working to keep the whole fecking unemployed population. Fair play to natwest, direct line and the other royal bank of Scotland groups for keeping call centres in the UK! As a consumer you have right to choose who you want to bank & shop with, that is the whole point of onsumer soveriegnty. Vote with your feet and ditch any company that is out sourcing!

I didn`t realise this..I Bank with Barclay's if its true I shall be changing banks..I`m not racist but I don't want to be phoning India with a banking problem..Quite often these operators speak poor English too...with all this Identity theft I feel call centres out of the country are too risky..

Why does everything in this country have to be related to racism?? it's getting beyond a joke your scared to open your mouth nowadays without some idiot accusing you of racism, if I have one blimp with Barclays I'm pulling out these banks and their greed are beginning to disgust me I can see the old days of under the mattress coming back into fashion.

I will be going to my bank in person fro EVERY minor thing and urge everyone to do the same. That will annoy them no end if we dont use the phone system in protest.
They dont know how the UK works and cant speak UK English. It is as impossible to understand as native Jamican English. The amount I pay in charges I at least expect a decent service
****IT DONT WORK****

It doesn't make sense to me for companies to have call centres. Why use them at all when they have paid employees at work, and any one of those employees can answer customer's phone calls? Hasn't anyone realised that fact yet? It's a needless extra expense. I hate call centres. Just leads to anger, frustration and loss of business for the company concerned. We all ought to take our business to companies who value us enough to talk to us 'direct'.

If their level of service drops because of it, that would be a reason to stop doing business with them. Or if you see as unpatriotic to outsource, that's another reason to stop doing business with them. I don't think its racist to feel that an organization that based in your country should operate there as well. Theirs was a financial decision, so the money is more important to them than the public relations impact.

It is very frustrating to receive service from someone who doesn't have much of a handle on the English language, also I think it's scary to have your personal banking information handled by someone who is on the other side of the globe. All kinds of opportunity for fraud & scandal if you ask me.

Its nothing to do with race.
I don't like indian call centeres because they are so useless at giving you any real help and there is a lot of communication troubles as they often have poor english.
