If someone is bothered by a recurrent dream, can they do anything to stop them from happening?

I don't know, but if you find out let me know. Last night I dreamed I was going to a fancy Jewish wedding with Napoleon Dynamite, and was worried because I didn't bring any good clothes. (Can you tell I haven't had a date for a couple of years?)

I used to run into nightmares all the time. I learned the trick of lucid dreaming:That is, actually how to change the course of my dream, if I didn't like the way it was going.

Another thing the person can try is a night light.

You could try many different things, such as trying not to eat or drink before bed, lowering your brain activity during the night. But, i wouldn't try to stop the dreams.

no, dreams are helping you to deal with issues and problems, no need to suppress them
if you cooperate with your dream and learn from it , it won't bother you that much

Heavy medication, hipnosis and therapy.
