Ok heres a few you may or may not not have heard of, ready:
Nortel Networks, Qualcomm, Alcatel Lucent, Continuous Computing, IBM, CISCO,Novell, Oracle, Sun Microsystems, DELL, Agillent, Hewlet Packard, GE, Bell Labs, Light Path, Level 3, Deutche Telecom, NOKIA, Tellabs, Ericcson, Rolls Royce, Lockheed Martin, Pratt and whittney, McDonald Douglas, Intel, MacIntosh, NASA, Berkley University, MIT and UCLA, are all very major players in todays technologies market. No communication is possible without it going across one or more pieces of equipment designed or assisted by one or more of these guys..

A list like this could be huge, of course - if one categorized breakdowns in varying types of software/hardware, it could go for pages (e.g. Autodesk is a major player for CAD, Broadcom for communications semiconductors, Electronic Arts for gaming, etc.). I've also assumed - pehaps wrongly - that you don't care about, say, United Technologies for helicopters, or many other tech areas. Anyway, here's a short overview version for ICT...
