The coming dissolution of the national sovereignty for the sake of the North American Union
The flood of Mexicans being allowed into the country absolutely wholesale
The outsourcing of the American workforce's jobs and therefore any financial security they can hope for
And the run up on the record national debt !!!
All of these factors are playing together to create an America that is FAR weaker and Far less capable and Far less of what it has been than people have a single clue of !!!!
But it happens to be a true Globalist's Dream come true !!!
Sad part is --- there IS NO MANAGING THIS ---it is totally too late to deal with it on a "vote" basis---- so managing it is out--- at this point it is down to the fight against it--- the simple and very unoriginal stance of STAND AND RESIST !!!!!

What you have just explained is the formulae most of the American people are playing with , most times.
What i will suggest is you confine your financial plans to the minimum savings ,
If you can afford, pay all or most of your bills over the next 12 months but always saving a percentage of the check to your future plan. after that time you will have turned your portfolio to the positive, remember you can burn a candle at each end, but not for long. life is the same as gardening nothing will grow if you don't start the seed or keep it protected. pay yourself first, 20% IN FOOD AND LODGING AND THE REST ON THE BILL'S. IT WONT BE LONG UNTIL YOU ARE THE MAN.

My biggest fear is having a question like this one and seeing these answers above.
I know I will get a lot of thumbs down mainly from Republican people but what I want is to at least let you guys know the reality so obvious to the rest of the world and yet so unknown to the common US citizen.
It is amazing how illiterate and blind the majority of people answering this question is.
I understand that you might fear for your financial security, which is probably the biggest fear any middle class citizen faces in modern society. We created this situation and the US was and is leading it.
Fear not, you still live in the country that uses the rest of the world for its own benefit (the developing world to a big extent and the developed world to a lesser extent)
World poverty exists mainly because of US institutions and US policies.
Poverty has no solution because the US policies, through the WTO and the IMF, make it impossible to solve. The WTO imposes rules that benefit the developed countries and forbid poor countries from creating wealth.
Look at farming! The way the US, and the EU for that matter, behaves does not allow subsidies in developing countries and yet it directly subsidises its farming industry. How can poor countries compete with that? Or even, how can a small US farmer compete with big explorations? It's the same thing! The small farmer cannot compete with the mass production of big explorations so they have to resort to loans, which for most farmers will be their financial destruction.
That is right, the interest rate a small farmer has to pay for a loan will only destroy him financially, as he's competing with corporations that can get loans at a much lower interest rates and therefore able to produce goods at a much lower price.
This is in fact the same as the IMF for poor countries, as the interest they have to pay is much higher than farmers in the developed world, making it impossible for them to repay their loans and to get out of poverty. The only way for them to get better financial conditions is by signing agreements that grant big US corporations direct and indirect exclusive deals, depleting the country of its natural resources for US economical benefit.
Someone mentioned as their fear having the same problem in the US as in Argentina. Don't worry; the situation in Argentina was created by the US for US economic benefit. The Argentinean wealth is in the hands of US corporations, local subsidiaries of US corporations or of a local elite that deposited their money in the US because of the unsustainable financial situation created by the US, through many areas including an exchange rate system that benefits strong currencies only and makes poor nations even poorer.
You might want to know that the foreign exchange market and its free floatation policy, has been created only in the late 70s. Even though the US, and some of the developed countries, advocate this is a zero sum game, that is not true, as all the players of this game make a lot of money (this is by far the biggest financial market in the world and the main source of income for big banks).
Before the introduction of the floating rate, the US used to lose billions of dollars a year, because it had to intervene in the markets. However, now this is the biggest source of income in the financial industry. As the money has to come from somewhere, poor countries are the ones paying this bill.
Hope you reread this in case you disagree and make your research before judging it.

My biggest fear is that things will continue as they are.
No, on second thought, that may be the best case scenario.
Probably our greatest fears will not even happen. It will be something else entirely different from what we think it will be. We will fall prey to another of our "night terrors."
Worrying about your own personal financial security amid this world of nuclear weapons, energy supplies, deadly viruses, famine, disease, global warming, crime, ect., must be pretty reassuring.
I try to keep my fears in balance. Nice question.

Voter apathy is mine. Individual participation is an essential part of a Democracy, & without it laws are passed & policies are made that limit personal freedoms & abuse power. Examples of this are banning smoking & Trans fats, & the War in Iraq.

My biggest nightmare in the U.S. is war and terrorism. Then I worry about the environment. These are things that I personally cannot control. I can try to make a point and reach out to people but ultimately I am out of control of these things. I can do little things to save the environment but we need everyone to help.
