i was diving for mermaids when a fishermans hook went right into my lip so i acted on instinct and started to barrel roll, after all the commotion i saw he had gone, should i try to return his fishing rod with his arms still attatched to it or just throw it all in the bin?

Well i saw a cracking mermaid down there giving me the eye but when i started trashing round she must have thought i was mental or something, not only that i think i may have popped out of my speedos during it all.

Leave the rod on the dock. The arms will make a tasty snack. How did the mermaid diving go? You never mentioned if you caught any.

Smart thinking with the barrel roll I would have panicked. I think it's vital that you return the arms and rod to it's rightful owner most people don't realize the importance of arms when fishing is your livelihood. Hope you used a strong antiseptic on your lip God knows where that hook has been.

Put it on the shore upright, so next time he can 'sit on it.'
