Using CMS (content management system) allows the developer to set up design templates while allowing users to input content.

This maintains a standard look throughout the website while relieving the developer of the day to day duties of maintaining and updating content.

CHANGE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The advantage is that only one developer can work on a module at a time. The changes are controlled, ie. any changes must be approved, them promoted to Quality Assurance for further testing....the approved once more before being promoted into production.

The advantage is that a developer can not just change something without approval or put something into production before it is tested.
