because less intelligent people have a harder time understanding and being interested in important issues like the war. you have to understand geography, keep up with the daily happenings, and be able to cope with the depressing factor of it all. it is so much easier for a couch bum to flip to the news, take one look at the map of iraq, say "boring" or "too depressing," and flip to something they CAN understand, like how hot that actress looks in that sleevless gown.

Unfortunately we would rather occupy our time w/ fame and fortune instead of realizing/caring that we're contributing to killing innocent people every day. America isn't the home of the free, or the brave, it's the home of the ignorant. We're directly in the middle of a war and you look at the news and it's always about someone being in and out of rehab, I don't care who is breaking up or getting married. I don't care who bought a new tiny dog or a big luxury car... And I don't give a $#%& who passed out drunk at some new hip club. There are lives being lost here! Every day someone loses a brother, or a husband, or a father, and all people care about is Britney Moron shaving her head. I'm ashamed to even live in a society such as this.

American president is on a HUNT FOR OIL, it is not the whole America, in fact common American people love their soldiers who die everyday in Iraq, it is the president of America who shows concern for his political image only, otherwise he is least concerned over the deaths of American people in Iraq.
