books for sure, you can really feel the story when your reading it, you imagine the characters the surroundings etc, and it works for you as it's your idea's, in a film it's someone elses take on it, which is cool, but you may not enjoy the film as much as if you read the book, and got your own take on it first

Got to be the books. Read Lord of the Rings, then watch the trilogy, there is such a difference. I first found this out while reading Tom Clancy books. Then they started making films like 'Hunt for Red October' and 'Clear and Present Danger'. In all cases, the films cannot cope with the vision shown in the book.
There is one thing though. I tend to read books over and over, and after I have seen the film, it means I can put a face to the character. That does make things better when you see a film before reading the book.

Reading the books and not seeing the movies are better in a sense because you get every aspect that the author wants you to get but then if you see a movie you can watch the characters come alive. The only problem with movies is they leave things out or they change somehting or the character cuts their hair in real life and it looks like they have a topuee on. Anyhoo, i like watching the movies but i like to read the books, i dont know i guess its a toss up for me. Well i guess i didnt really answer the question, the films about the movies are better because the story comes alive

I would definitely say books as they have so much more detail, when you see the film of the book it's such a let down as they have missed out a lot of bits and the characters never look as you imagined when you read the book.

Books are always better, the author can go a lot more into detail to explain why certain events happen, this is always lost in films (well, 90% of them anyway), and I think our own imaginations bring the characters to life more than any director could

Books - absolutely. I've ALWAYS been disappointed in the film of a book I've enjoyed. In fact, I've stopped seeing films in that category for that reason.

The books usually tell the full and true story. Films are made too 'Hollywood', they take the passion and the magic out of the original story.
Books definately

books are always better... it forces us to use our imaginations(especially if there aren't any pictures) and when we read we're doing something constructive with our time, instead of sitting our *** down watching a movie, eating popcorn. Another thing is that they usually leave out ALOT of details in the movies, but in the books you can have like 1000 pages, so more detail, more imagination! so books are much better.
