We seem to go through various physical and psychological stages, which occurs at a similar ages for everybody. Plus all the illusions, self/deception and distorted pictures of reality which we create throughout our lives, created out fear, insecurity, weakness, whatever it may be. Our sub-conscious plays a big role in our lives, so being aware of this and coming to the root of fears etc. would earn us some more freedom, free will???

free will has nothing to do with god or with heavens...
Man is condemned to make a choice in every second of his life. Some choices are good for him and some arent. Whether he is fully aware of the consequences of his choices is more important than whether he has free will or not. He may sincerely think that the option he chooses is good for him and for mankind but it may come out the other way around. At such cases he cant be held responsible. The problem is that most of our choices are made in full ignorance of the consequences.

My friend, Free will is not what you have assumed it to be. Free will, an unique characteristic of Human beings only , is very much like your breath. It is given to you , without being asked , the moment you are born.

For a very large part of your life you take for granted this great gift and more often than not you ( we) misuse. Little do we realise that proper use of this faculty can lead to a harmonious healthy life.

Free Will is just that. You are given the moment you are born. You have also been given the sense organs with which to interact with life. If we misuse this free will it is our own doing. Like the knife that can cut a fruit or kill a person.

The mind intercepting this free will makes you succumb to the attractions of the world.

The operative word here is "seems," and the mistaken word here is "earned." Third, free will exists in spite of the mind not because of it or by means of its operation.

Free will ' is ' already. It is the umbrella in any world of duality under which we operate. It is not something earned but rather, a medium in which we act and live and, through trial and error, an impetus alloted us by which, in which, from which, and with which we learn to grow.

Free-will is something that is not earned. It co-exist with the soul as impart spiritual. It is concerned on the actions, courage, and bravery of a certain being. Knowledge recalls back the good and the evil of a certain idea and it passes through the free-will. In light of this, understanding is not a function of the free-will.

Free will does not have to be earned. However, wise use of that free will does have to be learned if one expects to find happiness in life. It entails far more than a quick glance to understand the full potential of wise use of free will.
There are two things in life that are always constant. What we do is always within our choice. And the consequence we experience is alway a result of that choice. I will admit it took many years of wanting to blame God and other people for my apparent misfortunes in life. I am owning my choices much more than I did in the past and that has resulted in a much more fulfilling and happy life.

Thanks for asking the question and getting me to stop and notice the progress.

Let's assume I am in a primitive tribe. I am hungry, but am nervous about some food because I think that it might be bad. But I am really hungry and am trying to decide what to do.

Most people would say my decision was a result of free will whether I understood "the mind and all of what it creates" or not.

Free will is simply a man's right to choose.
You make choices everyday and some of the choices you make can lead you into bondage.

True freedom is the absence of fear.

You have to understand the system before you can tweak it. Science, philosophy, religion. All systems in the cosmos use free will and awareness.

Everyone has free will, it does not have to be earned. One chooses to have free will and exercises it for good or evil.
