I would vote for either of those hypothetical combinations.

Maybe it's naive, but having opposing parties participate in governing the executive office makes me think we'd start seeing a hell of a lot more compromise and common sense government, vs. the party pandering and obstructionist tactics that happen ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AISLE.

None of the above. After 8 years of that fool Bush, I am terribly disappointed that no credible person appears to have a shot at the White House. Our politicians have no convictions and nothing new to say, and there isn't a single one of the current candidates that has done anything yet to earn my vote, regardless of party.

Obama is the only one I don't hate, and that's probably because he hasn't been around as long. :)
I think the closest you could get in reality is haveing Lieberman as a VP for either party.
