I took a supplement called fenugreek, it makes you kinda smell like maple syrup, but it increased my milk supply enough to where I could make extra bottles and freeze them so that when I wasnt able to be there, she could have that and not formula! Its worth a try.

Breasts react to supply and demand. The more frequently you feed or pump and the longer you do it, the more milk you will make. Start increasing now (breastfeeding and pumping) and you'll be just fine. Breastmilk can last in the refrigerator for up to a week and in the freezer up to 4 months. You may want to give your baby a bottle of breastmilk every day, starting now, so he will get used to the process of bottle feeding and won't have such a hard time when you're not able to do so directly. Good luck!

Breastfeeding is an amazing thing! The more you demand it, the more they will make. If you start trying to pump after you've fed the baby, or in between feedings when you know the baby won't be eating yet, your breasts will start producing more milk to keep up with the demand for it.
Also make sure that when you can't nurse him for 24 hours, that you are still pumping every few hours (or at least the amount that he would eat in that time) so that you keep your supply up for when you return back home.
I hope that helps! Good luck!

Generally, the laws of supply and demand come into play. You might want to try pumping as often as you are able to, even if you are getting only small amounts. Anything expressed can be frozen for future use. As you continue to increase the demand by feeding and pumping, your milk supply should also increase.

I found that using my manual pump on one side while I nursed on the other sky rocketed my supply when I was having issues. You could try that and freeze the milk until that day comes.
A close friend had luck with More Milk Plus. It's got oodles of herbs that boost your supply.
I hope you find what works. good luck!

I am a nursing mommy (10 months and going strong), and what everyone else is saying is true; supply and demand. I never had luck with pumping, but increasing water intake, and expressing more milk than my daughter was eating helped me produce more. Something else that helped me produce more milk, as whacky as it may sound, was eating cinnamon. It's natural and isn't questionable like many herbal supplements.

The more your baby sucks on your breast the more milk that comes down. Also when your baby isn't nursing try pumping. I promise it works! However about 1 week ago I had to have surgery & I couldnt breastfeed for 2 dasy and now most of my milk has dried up...I have been trying so had to get it to come back...but no luck! GOOOD LUCK TO YOU!

what i am about to tell you, you may not believe but it is true. drink just one beer and you will produce at least 2 small bottles of milk. after you pump then put it in the fridge. i know you are thinking that it awful but the barley in the beer makes you produce so much milk. my aunt told me this and i thought she was crazy, i mean how could i drink A beer when i am breast feeding but i tried it and wow i woke up in the middle of the night and my boobs were leaking all over the place and i pumped 2 and a half small bottles and it doesn't hurt your child at all. if you think i am nuts then give your pediatrician a call and ask their advice...

I had to do this once before to have day surgery 6 weeks after child birth.
First increase your liquid intake. Second, pump your breast half way between feedings. Your child's demand of his normal amount will increase your output naturally.

why don't you pump one breast while he's nursing on the other during feedings?? you could also ask your doctor about supplements to increase your supply as well. it should work out fine...good luck!
