I have had my navel pierced 2 times and it has gotten infected and i have had to take it out both times. I am not sure if I wasn't caring for it right or what. It has scar tissue but it has been almost 2 years since i took it out. do you think it is a good idea to try it one more time and if so what are the most effective ways to clean and take care of it. How long to wait before changing it, how many times to clean it per day, what are the best things to clean it with, how to tell if your body is going to reject it, etc. any help would be greatly appreciated

For starters when you get it pierced, make sure the piercer uses an o-ring to pierce it because they are easier to clean. Use Dial soap to wash it everytime in the shower and rotate it. It also helps to use a salt soak (instead of a salt soak tho I would suggest H2Ocean salt spray). It's only $10 but well worth it. Also make sure the needles and things are safe. Ask if the people will use NEW needles and everything as in like have them let u watch them take the needles and things out of the sterile bags.

I had my tongue pierced and it didn't work well at all, also several piercing in my ears and they got infected. Sometimes our bodies just reject certain types of metal from our body chemicals we have in them. But if you want to get another piercing in you navel I would ask the person you have to doing it and make sure the shop you go to is sterile,(Most places that are clean and sterile don't mind answering questions about the medicine for taking care of your piercing. You should two - three times a day. Alcohol and peroxide are best to clean with.

I had mine done...and my skin rejected it, It's been a year and I'm going do it over. I heard it hurts a little more with the scared tissue. You should clean it with liquid soap a couple times a day and turn it when you clean it. I think you are supposed to wait about 3 months before you change it.

I had my navel pierced twice sweetie. I took VERY good care of it as I worked in the medical profession. Its possible that your body may reject metals even if they are hypoallergic. I'm sure to say that, because i know its disappointing. You are welcome to try it again, but I am afraid you are going to get the same result. Good luck!
