I've noticed that when sick, be it respiratory problems or otherwise, that the couch or recliner seems to be the only place I can get any rest. Anyone know why, or am I just wierd?

I don't really know but I feel the same way because of being so sick all the time I too find the couch/reclincer very comforting. I have my day-bed and it's the best. I also have my blankey and I always have to have it. All year long no matter the temp out-side it's always the same in here. Cuddle up and get cozy. Feels real good,

No, you're not weird. Maybe it's because you share a bed with someone and they disturb you, or you don't want to disturb them. If you're really sick, sometimes you can breathe better sitting up a little. In my case, when I'm sick I'd rather be in bed but life around here doesn't stop because Mom is sick, so I take a little cat nap on the sofa when I can.

If you're sick now, get better soon!

It nussles you up warm and comfy like being in your mommas arms when you were sick as a child. Or even perhaps deeper when you were in the woom. The subconscious never forgets that feeling

The body's organs are out of order and they need rest. Standing up, slouching these positions make a codition worse. So to rest and allow the organs room to "breathe" is comforting. And like you're referred to respiratory problems, breathing in a comfortable position is relaxing. Standing up may cause your knees to buckle.

You can sit in the family room and let the germs and virus waft over everyone else and know that when you feel better they will be sick...

It feels like your being held. That's what we all truly want when we're sick....to be held.
