With a completely different year, a different calendar, and a non-existent zodiac, would I have to invent one? How credible would that be? How credible was it way back in the day when they invented it on Earth? Or is astrology just a big crock of **** to begin with?

If someone could really predict the future (by passing controled tests) you would be in high demand right now.

Proof of psychic power would be an event equal to going to Mars. Also there would be no more lotteries, horse races, or other forms of gambling. Top psychics would be in huge demand for goverments and business. Imagine what it would be like if it was true.

How did the ancient astrologers do it? The world did not have accurate clocks, no time zones, no concept of latitude/longitude and believed the world was flat not round. The outer planets were not known. Astrology was done mainly for the rich and the powerful not the masses. The caster better say the right things or he could lose job and his life.
The common folk had no need, let alone money to spend on fortune tellers. They had to struggle to live each day. Few birth records were kept and many did not know when or where they were born. And now for astrologers we better keep a GPS system for the birth of our children.

The James Randi Educational Foundation (JREF) offers a one-million-dollar prize to anyone who can show, under proper observing conditions, evidence of any paranormal, supernatural, or occult power or event. The JREF does not involve itself in the testing procedure, other than helping to design the protocol and approving the conditions under which a test will take place. All tests are designed with the participation and approval of the applicant. In most cases, the applicant will be asked to perform a relatively simple preliminary test of the claim, which if successful, will be followed by the formal test. Preliminary tests are usually conducted by associates of the JREF at the site where the applicant lives. Upon success in the preliminary testing process, the "applicant" becomes a "claimant."

To date, no one has ever passed the preliminary tests.

Theoretically - even though theoretically there wouldn't be a chance in hell that we'd ever get to manage a colony on Mars - you would be able to use the same zodiac wheel, with a bit of calculation you could adapt it to mars. Same 30° per sign, same 12 signs. So that's the sun in the signs taken care of. Years are longer than on earth, so each sign would get the sun in it for much over a month. The Mars day is only a wee bit longer than the Earth day, so that doesn't change all that much for the Ascending signs.
Now, with Mars gone, since theoretically - see above - you would be walking on it, you can no longer use Mars in the charts. True, that would mess things up, but nothing that can't be overcome. This bit is less theoretical, but the idea is, that being born on Mars automatically gives you the raw typical Mars qualities. Another downside is, that you would have two moons now to consider. IF at all, those two moons influence the tides on Mars, and influence people's humors like they do here on Earth. If they don't; they can't really replace our moon. If they do; well you would have two emotional focal points from now on, and that might actually be a good thing!
For the rest, it's clear and simple. All the planets are still the same; only Earth comes into the equasion and the moon disappears, but you get two moons in return. For the rest, it's all the same.

But that's only theoretical.

Question is, though; how much do you really know about astrology to make such remarks? I would say clearly not enough, cos anyone who knows the basics of astrology knows that it is - or at least can perfectly be - calculated with objects outside of the Earth's atmosphere, but only with the Earth as its centre, only because we are on it. The rest; the placements of the planets and the sun, the wheel of the zodiac - can be perfectly re-created if we would be born on a different planet.

and to add to the above

there is a system of astrology based on putting the sun at the centre instead of the earth. In that system you wouldn't have to do any adjustments.

Aside from the fact you make absolutely no sense, scientifically, you would not be out of work or in high demand; you'd be dead. Did you like skip school and not go to basic science class???? Ever hear of.... never mind. Why waste it on the totally ignorant.
