Yes! The Cardinals who won 83 games in the regular season last year got hot at the right time, but it is unlikely they will be NLCS Champions let alone win the World Series this year. Since the Mets came ever so close to winning the NL pennant last year and have an extremely talented lineup, there is a very reasonable chance they will go at least one step further than 2006 in 2007. Even though they have some holes, they still have a lot of talent, as well as a talented GM who will do what it takes to fill the holes if the answers are not within the organization. Let's Go Mets!

They would have to win the wild card first. The Phillies will win the NL East this year. The Mets starting pitching is too suspect. Here is a thought though: the Mets win the wild card, and Pedro is back and as good as ever for the playoffs. Glavine is an old pro, he knows how to pitch in the playoffs. If they do manage to get to the post season-hey, anything could happen in a short series.

The Phillies will win the NL East by at least 10 games over the Mets. The Mets have a very thin pitching staff while the Phillies lineup will produce at least 900 runs this year.

Sorry bro...I dont think the Mets will even win the NL East this year, although they will probably get in as the wild card. Im going with the Phils to win the East and the NL pennant this year. They really addressed their starting rotation in the offseason by bringing in Freddie Garcia, and Cole Hamels will be much more consistent this year...Not to mention that their lineup is just sick. Expect Ryan Howard to put up MVP type numbers once again and dont be surprised if Utley is in the mix for it as well.

Yes, the Mets will probably win the NL pennant. Everyone knows how good their offense is, and while pitching wins championships, offense sure helps you get there. Omar Minaya will make key moves before the trading deadline to aquire who they think at that time is the best pitcher (or pitchers) on the market. The only thing that worries me about the Mets is their players' track record as far as staying healthy (read Pedro Martinez, Cliff Floyd, El Duque). However, should they overcome that I think that they, along with the Dodgers, have the best shot of coming away with the NL pennant.

NL East, good chance. NL title, probably not. Pitching is key, and their staff is already showing its age. Look for the Phillies to be in the thick of things all season, but then likely choke as all Philadelphia teams do. The Braves are always in there, but I expect a surprise showing from the Nats. While they don't have a 5 man rotation anybody can even name, that may be their biggest advantage. Marlins will not be a factor.

the real challenge will be the PHILLIES! the phillies are a good team and the n.l east will have two teams in playoffs this year! if the mets pitching stays healthy, especially id pedro martinez returns and can pitch good, the mets should be able to win the pennant! I AM PREDICTING THAT THE METS WILL MEET THE PHILLIES FOR THE PENNANT! FOR RIGHT O PLAY IN SERIES! THE DODGERS ARE BETTER, BUT NOT QUITE THERE YET! YES! LOOK FOR METS TO BE IN WORLD SERIES!

We'll have a shot. Our lineup actually got better from last year adding Moises Alou.People continue to say our pitching is terrible which just isn't true.Is it full of aces?No but Pelfrey is an outstanding young pitcher who can be this years Justin Verlander,Maine is a good young pitcher nothing great but he's good,Glavine is old but still very effective (just ask Albert Pujols),Pedro will be coming back right after the all-star break and El Duque is one of the greatest clutch pitchers of all time so he will come up huge in the playoffs.I'm being optimistic but it' all very real.

I think the Mets win the east, although the Phillies definitelty have a shot. The mets have money aside to get a pitcher or two if needed at the allstar break. Plus Pedro comes back then too ...
I would not be surprised to see Dontrelle Willis in a Mets Uniform come July 31
