I watch TPIR everyday. I can say, without a doubt, that to win both showcases, your bid has to be within $250.

When the show started, most showcases were only valued around $4000-$5000, so you only had to be within $100 to win both. Nowadays with showcases sometimes being $50,000, they decided to up the price you have to be within to win both.

Also, I'm on the east coast and the showcase is just now starting and Bob Barker confirmed it is $250.

It used to be $1,000 many years ago. I think it's $100 now.

Addition: Looks like it's $250 based on input from those who actually watch the show now! Gotta love this forum -- always a chance to learn something :-)
