I think that you need to talk to your OB and tell them what happened. Maybe you can work some sort of repayment schedule out. YOu need end of the trimester appointments to make sure that things like the cord isn't around Jr's neck, you're blood pressure isn't going up, you aren't retaining water or passing protein. Also, go to the state, maybe you qualify for state healthcare. Don't worry, everything will be okay. Remember, they can't turn you away because of an inability to pay.

Don't worry about how much it costs right now and get the care that you need. You NEED to visit a doctor immediately with all that is going on with you. The baby could be in distress, or worse. Now's not the time to be stingy! You would hate yourself if something ended up wrong with the baby because you didn't want to go to the doctor.
Just tell your doctor that you don't have insurance now, so you want to keep it to only the "necesssaries." Most doctors are very respectful of that.
Also, if you live in the US, you are eligble for COBRA, which is continuation of your insurance coverage. It isn't cheap, but it's better than paying it all out of pocket.

I totally understand where your coming from, I was just in this situation myself-I was actually waiting for my new insurance to take effect.....and its not that your being cheap, but having a huge medical bill to pay off, on top of all the new baby expenses could be quite stressful!! Call your doctor and be straight with him, ask him what you should do, if anything maybe you could go to a clinic-or find out if medicaid could maybe reimburse you or something??
Good Luck

Well, first of all it really sucks that your health insurance was taken away. That has got to be stressfull, especially in your situation. I would still go and get checked, regardless if you have to pay. The GBS test is pretty important, plus it is very common for many women to be positive for it. Which means you will need antibiotics when in labour. Plus, these appointments are also probably the most important of them all, because you are so close to delivering. Good luck!

Go to a health dept. Usually they dont charge much. When you start having pains that are soooooo bad that you cant stand them then you should normally go to the hopsital. But if you have high blood pressure then you should probaly go get checked now. If your blood pressure gets to high then they will want to go ahead and take the baby. I know having a baby can be very expensive but the most important thing is you and your babies health. Good Luck

I would call a doctor and see if they can work with you, if not maybe call Planned Parenthood and if htey can't help you themselves, they may have a suggestion. If none of the above still work, I would go anyway and try to handle the expences, this is an important time. Hospitals will usually give you a big discount if you tell them you dont have the money and you pay a lot up front. GOOD LUCK and CONGRATS!

The best thing to do would be go and get checked out and unfortunately just pay the full price of the visit (gulp!!) without insurance...
In this case, it would probably be worth the money to make sure everything is going ok. It would be very hard for me to come up with the money...but I think it would be worth it!

You need to call the insurance commisioner for your state, your insurance should have covered you through the entire pregnancy. Call the medicaid office and tell them about the complications they can put a rush on it. until then your doctor will probably work with you on payments due to the situation. You really need to see your doctor.

I have two children. If my insurance was taking away and I had questions about what was going on I would most definately get to the hospital.
Worry about you and the baby now and the bill later on.
