The letter said I was one of a small group of students notified that they were likely to be accepted. Is this likely a 60% or a 98%? Also, the dean signed it and wrote a note at the end. I'm not due to get my formal acceptance (or unacceptance) letter for a few weeks.

I'd say more like 78%...
Passing, but not an A yet.
For those that have qualified....
They send this letter out to lets
say 100 people..(there are only
92 spaces open.) Due to
circumstances beyond their
control, some people will have
to decline. That moves others
up the ladder, so to speak. If
you happen to be in the last
92..you're in. Right now, you're just
a number. What ever your grades
and test scores are. You will get
an acceptance letter in 4 to 6 wks.
It will tell you for sure. They need
this time to go over your personal
information and interview results.
Good Luck. It's a Great school.

I would pack your bags but don't load up the car just yet. If you do get in, at some point should you owe them money, you might try sending a simular letter stating that they are one of a small group of creditors who are likely to get paid. See how that works.
Good luck to you!

I think that it's probably likely, but don't make any definite assumptions until you get the formal letter of acceptance in a couple weeks.

Good luck! I hope you did get in (and if you did, then sincere congratulations)
