People are the same everywhere, but societies are different. European societies tend to be far more progressive than anywhere else, simply as a result of accidental circumstances of geography and history. Jared Diamond's "Guns, Germs and Steel" is a fasinating study of how Europe got to be the way it did.

Well, there are many of us living in many different countries, it's hard to categorise a complete continent, we are all so different, speaking many different languages.
