God has a plan. There are certain things He chooses not to do, to teach us a lesson. And how do you know that He's not going to fix the plate techtonics problems? Have you talked with Him lately? Yeah... didnt think so!
Oh and about the prayer thing. Let's say I do coke. If i keep doing it, but I just "pray" that I'll stop, I suppose you think that's going to work.
Why don't you do a little research on the God you think you know everything about before you go blaming Him for the world's problems?

1. show me proof that the plates move
2. look under the oceans...there is land there...so once again, explain those plates, cause we aren't floating, that is a myth from like the 1600's, you still believe that?
3. man has free will, that is why you see war, pain, suffering, etc. that's mans fault due to free will, has nothing to with God or the devil
4. blame the homeless and the starving on the church as a whole, not on any one religion, for it is the churches job to take care of the meek, but most churches would rather take care of themselves instead. does this mean religion is bad? no, it means churches are bad. just like saying a Chevy or a Ford is bad...not cars in general.
stop listening to others and stop believing the TV, there is a reason they call it a BOOB tube, cause when you believe it, you become a boob.

Tectonic plates can be explained very easily,
the earth is under a tremendous pressure from the revolution of the earth the spinning at 37,000 miles per hour. causes gravity to hold it together
Newtons once said he believed if the world was to stop in its track or was to slow down
the earth would fly apart and all those that were on the earth will surely die.
where the miracle is we have succeeded in believing it was some wish of God that we exist on earth, you mentioned Ethiopia and its starving children, God has done his part, in giving you this problem now its your turn to act on it, remember if you just help one child you would be doing your part, or maybe helping poor in your own town.
I havent slept well since NewOrleans was devistated.
God didnt cause that!

God never promised an easy life to anyone. He could fix all the problems in the world, but then no one would feel a need for God. It would be a self-defeating move for God to fix all of the problems in the world. Also, the Bible says that in the end of the world, there would be natural disasters that will kill many people. Stuff like earthquakes, and tsunamis, you know, that kind of stuff. Funny how its such an "old book", so it can't be relevant, or accurate...

There is a theory that most of the earthquakes we are experiencing now are due to so much being pumped out of underground reservoirs of oil, gas and water. Although another substance is sometimes pumped in as a replacement for what has been taken out, huge amounts have caused plate shifting.
As for large groups of starving people what happens when you give people just enough to live and create more people who cannot sustain themselves? You are perpetuating the problem - not helping it. Those people go on generation after generation with the only way the know how to live being starvation and handouts. If "charities" and governments truly wanted to end their poverty, their situation, they need to teach them to take care of themselves, not just feed them enough to make another generation of starving beggars.
Why should God intervene in this when man is the one that caused it? Eventually there will be a reckoning, but for now, we are responsible for our own messes.

He can fix what He wishes and does. Those Ethiopian babies have aids most of them. There are to be great modifications of people in the future. Capable of growing higher in grade.(peaceful, vegetarian, kind, intelligent, capable of getting better by breeding right). Many people in our current world aren't going anywhere with breeding but down. If it takes crazy "weather", floods, storms etc. to thin the population, time to assort kinds of people where they should be as the world changes, I see nothing wrong with that. Do you realize that the condition of many people is such that THEIR prayers don't even get answered? Prayers of people who DO RIGHT get answered. Some of the activities that human beings think "GOD" ought to be doing are what those human beings want, not what the Creator of all of us expressly wants and has written so, through His Holy angels.

Everything happens for a reason...
Be aware of the possibilities,
But do NOT believe everything you hear.
God is also all knowing.
So there is a reason God is choosing to not fix it.

I've never heard of a "plate techtonics [sic] problem." It's certainly not as relevant to theological discourse as the problem of evil, mortality, etc.

I didn't realize plate tectonics was a problem. Certainly not going to put it very high on my list of things to worry about.
