My son (just turned a year) wasn`t really a good sleeper since his first couple of weeks (when he seemed to sleep all the time apart from at night!.) I was always trying to make him take naps during the day as I was stressing because the books I was reading said that if they dont get enough sleep during the day they wont sleep at night (some books also had the reverse!!)
In the end I gave up and let him determine what he needed and finally we had a routine.........
He gets up around 7.00am, might have a half hour sleep around 10am (if I`m lucky) if not a sleep around 1 - 2.00pm for an hour or so and then he`s ready for bed at 6.30pm, thankfully he`s down for the night then so even though I love my sleep and hate getting up, seeing his smiling face in the morning and knowing that he`s had a good long sleep keeps us both going for the day!!!

my little one is 3 months old. she sleeps usually all night from 9 until 7. she has about a one hour nap at 10 and then around 1 or 2 she will take about 2 hours of nap. then around 6 she will take a nap that last an hour give or take a few minutes. sometimes she will cat nap a couple of times during the day besides the other naps but they only last a few minutes.

my son is 3 and he sleeps 7pm - 6:30 am, then a small nap from 1pm, this can be up to 2 hours depending on how tiring his day has been. Ive been told that he shouldn't nap any more but all the people who say this to me have toddlers who just crash out on the sofa or in the car!!! so he obviously still needs it xxx
