Would the Commitee make Kansas play Oral Roberts again in the 1st round? Does the NCAA try to protect big programs like Kansas, while surpressing programs like Winthrop from getting high seeds? Winthrop has 28 victories and 3 of their 4 losses came against the top ten, 2 of which were ranked #1 and Maryland is now in the top 25....with that being said if Duke had that record they would be in the top ten, right?

They could certainly do that depending on how Oral Roberts ends up being seeded. They wouldn't do it just because they played earlier this year and Oral Roberts wins. It usually just happens based on how the lower lines in the "snake" - how the seedings are done, come out. I think Roberts would be a 14 seed and Kansas a 1 or 2, so they would not be matched up anyways.

Winhtrop's RPI is only 69. That probably makes them an 11 or 12 at best. Again, they played a few good teams, but being that the Big South's RPI is so low, that is how they will be seeded. I bet someone who's a 5 or 6 will not be happy drawn against them, however.

Oral Roberts will be seeded too high to play Kansas in the First Round.

Regarding Winthrop, losses don't help your seeding, wins do.

Yes because Duke plays a tougher schedule. Winthrop may surprise a few people though.
