A book of shadows should always be a personal thing created by the practitioner.
You don't buy someone else's you create and experiment with your own... Proper metaphysical practices are based on common laws and anythng works really if you first learn well these natural laws of Science, earth and so called magic that is in all of us equally, and, once you understand them, then you follow them.
The incantations are the same as mantras and affirmations and only work, because YOU work them. There is no power in anything apart from the practitioner. You are the magic... Not the words.
Remember that...
Here are some book suggestions that will lead you down a more rational, realistic, path to enlightenment? Witchcraft is just another ritualistic anti-religion gone bad... Learn the truth.

well i cant tell you what is in mine, its personal to the owner, you dont need to suspifically buy a book of shadows, all you have to do is go down the shops and find a nice large note pad that you think would be right. You could also make a dream or prediction jornal writting all your dreams or predictions down, how you interpret them and how much of it turns out to be true.
You could write about particular readings (if you do them) and why you think it is important
you dont nessecarily need to write down the spells you do but you should write your intentions, unless i know that i will need the spell again i burn it with lavender oil. Otherwise when you need a similar spell your previous spell will hold you back not letting your heart determin your spell but your previous work. when casting allways invoke the elements and thank them for their place in your circle and say at the end of the spell and harm none so mote it be. Because even if its unintentional you could cause someone harm and what you send out comes back times 3, allways remember this, even when not spellweaving, try to never wish anything bad on anyone or it might just come back to you

Blessed be

Your Book of Shadows can be a binder as mentioned above, but to have your own beautifully leather bound book with the cover to your design is desirable to many Witches both novice and to the adept... You would have to seek out a specialist bookbinder for this..Your Book of Shadows should be set out in different sections start with the laws, including the Wiccan Rede or as some would say the Rede of the Wiccae, then Rituals... Then It's up to you how you wish to set it out... Spells, leave enough room for notes on your spells , did they work ? No ,then try it another way and so forth..Symbols and Sigals, Sacred Chants.. Herbal Lore (healing, medicine) The Gods/Goddesses you "work with" in magick.. Charts, Moon phases, tide times and anything else that is applicable to your life and style of the Craft.. It is a record of your personal life's experience with Wicca and Magick to a lesser degree Magick here I think... As my personal life as a Wiccan for 37 yrs doesn't revolve around magick..Just one more thing some "modern Witches" have made their Book of Shadows using CD-rom's, it's up to the individual as there are no laws as to this... It is a very exciting journey and I wish you all the best in your undertakings... Love and Light.. Blessed Be.. )O(

Your book of shadows is a personal article. I'm not sure I understand what manner of shop you hope to set up - do you mean to sell blank books or list things that you have put in your book?
I have a few spells, rituals and personal thoughts in my book. I can't say I write in in that often as most of what I do comes from the moment. Spells should be specific to their task so there is not much point in writing them down. I have never depended on anyone else's work to come up with my rituals or spells. It should always come from you.

Book of Shadows: A book with blank pages where you post any new spells, incantations and experiences you have gone through.
I used to keep a book of shadows. I mainly memorized my rituals and if not I bookmark the main books I use so I can refer to them when I need to.
A lot of my beliefs and practices have changed and i incorporate my new information into the old. I dont lose the old info ...i just expand on it and try to put it to memory.

I wrote my own using a notebook. But since I ran out of space, I made an e-version and printed the pages to create a A-4 size book with cover and everthing.
You can use an online BOS as an example to create your own. Examples are located here:
http://www.msu.edu/~rohdemar/earth/bos.html
http://www.sacred-texts.com/bos/index.htm (This link has an extensive list of online BOS you can review and use as a sample to create your very own Book of Shadows).
If you are into Wicca and wish to follow a specific tradition, you can then go with one of the Trad's published BOS. If you need further help, let me know. dgon1329@yahoo.com

I have made my book of shadows in a binder. But, I hope to buy one of those large handmade books with parchament paper and write out all my spells, charms, medacines etc. Are you looking for a BOS online? I didn't really understand your q.

A book of shadows is only a collection of spells.
the magic is NOT in the words you say, or the tools you use.
The magic is in your very lifeforce. If you want to do real magick you need to learn how to raise power and direct it for what you want done.
I use magick every day of my life, and the only tools I use is my breath to build power, and my mind to direct the power.

I take it that you are pretty young and you just want to start one to be cool, right? Well, why don't you just keep a diary until you learn more about the practice. :) Read some books.
