glad you ask, First get you a coin red book, and look it up coins , coins are graded to find out the worth, you might think its worth .24 cents but after grading it may be worth 25,000 check it out , Not everyone can grade coins but with the red book you can get a good idea,. hey get yourself a loop that will give you a closer look @ the coin and you can see any blemish good luck

If they are sealed and graded you can check out PCGS.com for values. If they are unsealed then you can get rough estimates of their value but they needed to be graded to get a monetary value. Helpful hint they should be stored in cases weather they're paper or hard plastic. The less a person touches them the better. The better they look the more they are worth and the rarer the better.

You can see a coin dealer or go get a Coins or Coinage magazine (They have retails so expect to get 40% less or so).Wal-Mart as well as Grocery stores have the magazines. You will need to know what grades your coins are. If you can do that good, if not a dealer is the best bet.
