A website maintenance contract is a contract between you and (typically) the company that created your website.

You pay them a monthy fee / retainer and they make updates to the site.

Updates must be within certain parameters or spelled out on the contract. For example your site has a front page that changes almost every day with a few new paragraphs and articles possibly a picture. A contract is drawn up to cover that.

Adding a whole new section with database access, however would violate that because of the extra work involved.

PM me if you want some more info , I may even be able to offer some services depending upon how the site was developed and if you have access / control of the files.

Hi!
I'm not clear on what you mean. I am a web host..and have never heard of such.

>>>Ok..now I have. I have never worked witrh a web designer.

If you mean website builder..there are various free ones to make template-like websites. Some hosts offer decent web site builders as part of the hosting package.

You best bet is request a free trial and take the website builder for a test drive. They are very different..some are easy and straigthford..others takes some time to learn.

One of my accounts is with 1and1 internet..and they have two..one I actually recieved on CD (Adobe GoLive) and a online accessable one as well. There are many others. The host may even provide you with free templates as well..you just need to shop around.

I would not recommend them as a host..I just got them for domains and the software.

If you don't want to do it yourself..you could hire a website designer..but they do not work for free.

Every website needs to update the contents regularly to match up with dynamic environment. This includes:
1. Everyone hates clicking on a link only to see that it is broken. Updating the links and content.
2. Redesigning the frames and layout
3. Making it more convenient to use for surfers by highlighing most used content and flashing the hotest updates.
