Vista is only praised by people that do not understand what an operating system is supposed to do.
An operating system is supposed to run your applications without giving you a hard time about it.
Vista does not do that, in fact the integrated DRM in Vista will severely limit what you will be permitted to do with your own PC.
In fact the limitations in Vista are so intrusive that it has caused many People, Businesses and Governments to rethink whether they really want to be held hostage to the whim of Microsoft any longer.
~BTW~ Vista is a complete flop in Japan and Korea read the news and find out why the Japanese have all but completely rejected it.

Vista is a total disaster. A friend of mine actually did buy it and after 3 days he had to remove it. Nothing worked properly. His system is heavily customized, and vista didnt seem to like that. He couldnt burn CDs without crashing, no antivirus programs were working (and vista's intigrated security system does not cut it), and he was getting all kinds of system problems. Vista was blaming the problems on his hardware, but it all worked perfectly on every other computer and operating system we tried.
Vista also screwed up the XP installation. He tried to set it up as a dual boot but XP was corrupted by vista.
The OS is flopping in asian countries, some europiean countries are considering an outright ban of it, and some US government branches already have banned it for use in their offices.
Take my advice and stay far far away from vista for a long long time.

I bought a computer last month with windows vista installed on it. I think it's really great. I wouldn't want a computer with out it as I like so many things about it.
The only thing that I have had a problem with is that I have yahoo and their anti virus hasn't been geared for it as of yet, but I've been using Norton and every things seems to be great.
It has lots of great features with it. Go to a computer store and play with one of their computers and see what you think about it. I love it. It's simple really pretty simple to use.

No.
I think XP still the best.
Maybe in 3-4 years i will, when most software needs Vista to work on.

I have had it and have tried it since the first beta. On my end the kinks are pretty much worked out. There are still no drivers for my main printer, but i do have another... thank goodness which works fine. Otherwise everything is seamless. GO ahead, take the plunge! It feels great in here.

the worst things about vista are , webpage cannot be display , espeially with yahoo.and it won't allow you to install your own ,programs that are retail , it extracts the files fine ,but during install , it freezes up , and than gets corrupt , and you have to seach extensivly for all the files and delete them , before you can try it again ,and again .
