Here's a list of compatible games. It doesn't look like Madden is listed. Sorry.
Microsoft is always adding more compatibility, so you can check back from time to time.

To answer your question regarding whether or not the 360 will play XBX games: The answer is yes and no. Yes, the 360 will play SOME XBX games, and No, it will not play ALL XBX games. Go here to get a complete list of the XBX games that are currently playable on the 360:
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardcompatibilitygameslist.htm
If the XBX game that you want to play isn't on the list, then you can't play it on your 360.
So, from the list, Madden 07 isn't included, so you can't play the XBX version of Madden on the 360.
Just so you know, you need the hard drive if you want to play the XBX games that are on the list on your 360. If you don't have a hard drive, then you can't play any XBX games on your 360. You also need to get the latest update from XBL or from www.xbox.com.

You can go to the XBOX360 web page and order a disk that will make the game work, but other than that-it won't work. At least none of my games worked until I dl'ed that disk into my harddrive.

Some games will play, some won't. If you have the 360, try it.
