How did your babies act at six months, were they curious grabbing everything they could put their hands on, crying if you took away their toys, very interseted in their toys and will play with them for half an hour while sitting up on their own? Did they follow you around the room, or if someone new entered the room did they look at that person even if that person didnt make a sound..I swear mabye I just think my baby is smarter then others...because she is so alert its weird.

Yeah im a stay at home mom, everyone tells me she bright because she is super alert, she was in the doctors grabbed his stethescope grabbed for the lamp grabs everything she possibly can the doctor even said "shes a bright little thing,|" and so do ninety percent of people who meet her. Not cause I aske either. BTW, because your child does that and has lack of sleep it could mean hes gifted.

The behavior you are describing is normal at that age. My son is now 9 months old but he behaved pretty much like yours at that age.

Just as advice, from mom to mom, all babies are different and develop differently. For your own good, don't compare your kid to anybody. It will just cause you frustration or you might come up as conceited... even though I completely understand and admire that you are so proud of your baby

Infinite blessings for you both...

Your baby could very well be gifted but at six months most babies these days are very alert. My son began walking at 7 1/2 months. He began talking plain even before that. My son could say several nursery rhyms by the time he was 1 yr old. He could count to 10 and say his abc's by the time he was 15 months old. Now he is 2 1/2 and can drive a car, put his cloths on, wash his self in the bathtub, every one says he acts like he is 5. But my daughter is 13 months old and wont talk at all buy she climbs everywhere. All children are different. Good luck on yours, just keep teaching him stuff and pay alot of attention to him and he will probaly be smart.

Is this your first baby. My six month old son does the same thing. Alot of the babies I know at that age werent so alert. He never wants to take a nap he would rather watch everyone else around him. When we take him shopping hes always grabbing things and trying to take them in the cart. Are you a stay at home mom? if so maybe we just have smart babies...lol

Every baby develops his/her skills at different times, what your baby is showing you is that she's reaching some of the marks of a 6mo old baby. If you are still curious about the development of your child then try the sites listed below. I personally like 'American Baby' because it gives a breakdown of all developments.

It's great to know that you are a proud parent but what if your child hasn't met all these milestones and someone else came along and rub it in your face? Not to good eh?

That's normal for 6 months. Do yourself a favor and stop comparing.

My daughter does the same exact things but she is only 5 Months.

So it's normal or both our baby's are a little advanced for now.
