One winning answerer(s) said that we learn from our mistakes in
the past;using this to choose our future.(not his exact words
though).
How about falling-in-love,compared to the divorceS?
And love itself- should we therefore be always childlike and learn
about love until we find the One,hence so-called learning from our mistakes? i could go on; for example, working for a living as
opposed to idleness(and i know of at least one Country which chooses idleness!)
And what about the global warming issue, not
including our environmental problems?
And i assume almost everyone of you realises how the mass democratic government
is a mistake!(if you dont then why carry on the mistake of
CRITICISING their every move- and this happens to other country's mass government too).
So is that it?

Love grows. our understanding grows. we get scrapes and bruises in the most unthought of places. we have many healing s and many who want to be the only one to heal us. we are many injured.

what we learn from mistakes is determined by how we process informations/knowledges appertaining to the experiences called "mistakes".

it is possible to make a mistake over and over if all conditions (or even one condition) is not realized as effective.

for instance...it can be considered a mistake to place trust in others which have not the same values as you or i.

such as being an open person within a fear enclosed community. the open person can be considered foolish for being open and vulnerable to consequentials of responsibilities of those within a fear-enclosed environment. and the fear-enclosed person can be considered foolish for trusting other(s) whom be open.

but these are differences of values realization and to expect the fear enclosed to become open or the open to enter into fear enclosures is a foolishness before realizing the manner of each.

so to each the other is considerable of error or mistake.

but until each realize the values-conditions desired of each and there whyfores...then mistakes will continue to be made in relationship between each.

but they may only be recognized as mistakes when the conditions are meeting the other. as when the fears of an individual or collective meets with the openness of an other.
or vice versa.

but....suppose the value of each is dressed in a manner which seems to conceal the value such as an open person may not recognize their own openness (and therefore vulnerability) in their manner of behaviour. a child or adult behaves fearlessly in sharing of their self and then spouts something in the company of a fearfull person which would prefer to conceal such a realization or spouting.

the realization spouted which seems to cause conflict and difference in relationship between each is also a reflection of the values of each. one which would conceal (calling it tact or care or respect) and one which would give expression (in sharing).

the realization may and do often distract from the differences of relationship values.

the one which is tactfull and the one which seeks to share realization for inclusive benefits or benefits which uplift their own value(s).

clearer yet...?

be well

Sometimes.
We each choose a path and the path leads our way. What we encounter and how we deal with it is a manifestation of personality. But the end of the path we must all achieve by hook or by crook. This we call the human condition.

Mark Twain said it best "A man who picks up a cat by the tail learns a lesson he can learn in no other way."

The ability to learn from past conditions or circumstances is a desirable quality. In truth we learn from the past with respect to the severity of the injury we suffer. If we have compulsions that overwhelm our ability to learn and guide ourselves in a new direction, the ability to learn is second to the compulsion. For example most alcoholics know that that liquor is killing them but they are overwhelmed by their passion for the substance and so continue in the same course of action.

Did they learn from their past conduct? Possibly. Will they change their course of action due to what they learned? Doubtful.
