I am a full time student in college I also work full time as a receptionist. I love my job because there is definitely opportunity for advancement. I also love it because although the phones are heavy in between I sit and study. I am a temp until further notice of the other receptionist who most likely isn’t coming back because she is older and recovering from 2 recent bran hemorages. She has 3 months and could ask for more leave. I will hear in about a month. There is a position that will open in about a week. It is very stressful, higher pay but between school and work I wont have time for nothing else. Should I risk losing my position (that could open up) which I am unstable at but happy or should I apply for the more secure but stressful one?

I would advise you to choose to stay with the job that is less stressful. You are a full time college student, and this has enough stress involved on it's own.

There are always going to be other job opportunities offered to you throughout your life.

Stress management is a big deal during college, this I know for sure.

Have a good day.

I think that nothing is worth being stressed out. I say keep the one the you like and hope for the best with it. If you are happy and your employers see that, even if the other person comes back they might like you so much because you have shown you like the job, they'll want to keep you too. Be happy, that's everything.

Stick with what you have. That stressful job may still be there when you need it.
