Don't rush it... This is your last chance for peace and quiet, relatively speaking.

The doctor's will induce for you... especially if he has a vacation coming up. That's what happened to my wife.

I am 39 weeks too, and probably feeling the same way as you are right now. I am absolutely done with this, and cant wait to see my little bundle of joy, which I'm sure you cant either. I have tried a number of the normal home remedies for going into labour, and to be honest with you, I am not sure any of them actually work. I think the baby is going to come when she is good and ready, and I have been at least 2 cm dilated for 3 weeks already. I hope some of the tricks work for you. Good luck, and if something works let me know!
1) Walking
2) Sex
3) Nipple stimulation
4) Pineapple
5) Raspberry leaf tea
6) Castor oil
7) Doctor swiping your membranes

I understand completely what it is like to be ready for your baby to be born. I have 4 children and all were born past their due dates by 5-11 days. I tried a lot of things such as having sex, walking alot, eating spicy food, driving down bumpy back roads, and washing floors on my hands and knees. All I got was a happy husband, sore feet, indigestion, a dirty car, and clean floors. Unfortunately, nothing started labor any sooner than my body and my baby were ready, no matter how desperately I wanted it all over. I recommend staying clear of the Castor oil suggestion. The intended purpose of Castor oil is as a laxative. You will likely experience diarrhea and stomach cramps. Stomach cramps can bring on contractions. Diarrhea can lead to dehydration which can also bring on contractions. The downside is that if you aren't ready to go into labor yet than these contractions will stop once the Castor oil has gone through your system and you are re-hydrated. Plus, you will be tired and drained so if you do go into labor you won't be feeling all that well. Additionally, there has been some speculation that taking Castor oil may increase the risk that your baby will pass meconium before birth which he will than aspirate which can cause problems after birth. There is no firm conclusion to this thought yet, but for me, it's enough of a potential for problems that I wouldn't even consider taking it while pregnant. Normal full-term births can occur between 37-42 weeks, so you are not yet over-due. I had no success at bringing my labor on and don't know anyone personally who was able to make themselves go into labor.

When I was pregnant with my son. My husband and I had sex (he got off inside me that helps) and then we went and walked around a huge lake once then we went to dinner. During dinner I went into labor. That worked for me. You should try it. Good luck!!!

Okay it didn't work for me but it did for my mom, try drinking some of that Castor oil and then walking as much as your pour little legs can take. It is the nastiest tasting stuff ever but it works! The secret is to keep walking till you can't take it anymore!

Hope it works for you I know your miserable.
Oh and don't tell your doctors they can't stand women doing it!
