No not even close. You must get a anti-virus program and I would strongly recommend a firewall as well. Ad-Aware is a good program, however it can not protect your computer by itself. Get the programs below to help to protect yourself.

Download, update and run Spybot---http://www.safer-networking.org/... . Don't forget to use the Immunize feature.

Download SpywareBlaster---http://majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

No, because Ad-Ware is NOT an anti-virus program. it is a great adware/spyware prevention and removal tool, but it does not function as an anti-virus program.

for that, i would recommend ClamWin Antivirus. it's an open-source AV and it works great. it's not resource intensive like high-end AV's, such as Norton, and it's been recommended by many programmers i've worked with.

if you need a firewall, the best one i can think of, is a router. anyone who uses the internet should have a modem -> router connection, then protect your pc with an adware/spyware program like Ad-Ware and an AV like ClamWin.

if you do that, you're good to go.

Ad Aware SE is not an anti-virus program. Download and use AVG anti-virus. It's free also.

I use Zone Alarm firewall and it's great & free too.

ADAWARE IS NOT AN ANTIVIRUS!!!

Say that with me 10 times!!!

You are not safe with just AdAware, especially P2P'n all the time.

You need other things like a good FireWall, antivirus and some more antispyware/antiadware.

Avast - http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html
ZoneAlarm - http://www.zonealarm.com/store/content/catalog/download_buy.jsp
SpyBot - http://www.spybot.info/en/download/index.html
Microsoft Defender - http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

and most importantly Peer Guardian - http://phoenixlabs.org/pg2/

impossible. you need to install kerio personal firewall ( free version ) www.kerio.com and avg antivirus www.grisoft.com and then you are full protected ( of course full doesn't mean nothing for high level hackers ) do it and you never have problems in a normal way.
