I have a comcast digital box and a cable ready TV. We tried the splitter and ab switch but that just sends the cable feed past the DVR so we can only do basic cable through the TV. I need the option to do both. Any sugguetions? Please help

Oh ya sure,
Don't split the cable before the box.
Go into the box with the main then take the cable out to the TV Then you need to run the Video out to another input on the TV. This way you can record two shows. The comcast can record two shows but then you will have to either be gone or watch one of them which makes the whole thing silly.
So one output is a cable to the TV this will get you what the box gets you. Then the Video out RED, WHITE, YELLOW to the Video input of the TV if you have one. will also get you all the cable you are subscribing to.

If you only have DVR on one TV you can't! Which ever TV you set to record the program will view the program. So if you're TV1 you can set TV2 to record while watching something different on TV1!

You have to have a Dual receiver. If it is only made as a dvr then you need to upgrade.
