You can take a Drive to Colorado Springs about an hour south of Denver Drive through the Garden of the Gods, Take the tram ride to the top of Pikes Peak 14,000 Ft. Visit the Airforce Academy, US Olympic training center.
You also should go to Casa Bonita one day for lunch or dinner, the food's not great but it's a fun place, http://casabonitadenver.com

Denver is a nice city, but the nearby Rockies are what you want to see! A day trip to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park is a great way to see one of the most scenic areas in the country. Another cool mountain venue to check out is Red Rocks Amphitheatre, which is actually a City of Denver park area - you can actually stroll around the theatre area for free and the vista overlooking the city and the plains is awesome.
What there is to do depends on your taste. Denver has a first-class art museum with a newly-opened modern art wing and its Museum of Nature and Science is very interesting. Shopping in areas like Cherry Creek is fun (but can be expensive). The Rockies will be back in business in Coors Field and tickets are easy to get at the park. The 16th St. Mall is the heart of the downtown area and has a free shuttle bus system.

I live in Denver. IDK what your taste is but you could go out for a night on the town to LoDo. They have SOME nice clubs, restaurants, etc. down there but be careful...some of them are dangerous. Like the 1st guy said too, try to go go the Mtns. somewhere. They have some great sccenery. Bring a camera! Hope you have fun...

You will be there during "mud season" which is not the best time to go to Colorado, especially to the mountains. Check the Denver paper for events during your stay.
