Hi, I have no insurance but would like to get my hormone levels tested and some other blood work. Since it costs so much to just see the dr. (like $100), and I'm a fixed income that just misses the cut off for my state help, can I get lab work done without a dr's orders anywhere to avoid the dr. visit charges? Or any suggestions you might have to help in my scenario ?

If you know someone who works in a lab where these specific tests are run, you may be able to have it done for free. However, what will you do if something comes back out of proper range? Go see a doctor? Think about the consequences before you go through with doing tests you may not be able to interpret correctly.

you might suggest to the Dr. that you're on low income.

Keep saving your pennies, or go to the emergency room raving "my hormones, my hormones". He he.
