I fall asleep at my boyfriend's house every night for 2-3 hours. When I wake up I go home. After I get home I call him to let him know I made it and we talk for anywhere from 15 mins to an hour so my sleep is interrupted but I generally still get 8 hours.

Nope, doesn't count if you interrupt it for more than a half awake bathroom dash.

I don't get your explanation, but I think that I know what you mean... You must know that if you sleep 7 hours and 30 minutes, it still counts as 8 hours. So my answer to your question is that you don't get 8 hours sleep exactly, for you talk 15 minutes to 1 hour to your boyfriend.

I suppose it is still 8 hours of sleep, but not as good as a straight 8 hours. It would be much more restful for you of you could sleep through the night uninterrupted. Take care and sleep well!

When you sleep, there are four "sleep stages" that you go through. The fourth stage is the deepest, and you don't really get relaxation unless you reach this fourth stage of sleep. You'll know you're in the fourth stage because that's when you have very vivid dreams, and you are difficult to wake up. You need to reach the fourth stage of sleep 2 or 3 times a night to really get some rest.

Most doctors recommend 6-8 hours of UNINTERRUPTED sleep. If you feel refreshed though you should be fine. But no. It doesn't count as a full 8 hrs.

eight hours is just sort of an average guideline. If you wake up feeling refreshed and ready to take on a day, you're probably fine.

well, even if it ended up being 8 hours, dreaming can get in the way.
