when you are induced to bring labour on, how do you feel whilst it is happening? are there any side effects of the drugs they give you and does the labour come on quickly? I know there are all different ways like pessary, drip, having waters ruptured etc. what were your experiences which ever way you were induced?

They broke my water and gave me the pictocin drip. My body wasn't quite ready to have the baby yet. I had already had an epideral but from all the pressure I was still in tears. I wound up having to have an emergency c-section because she was caught on my cervix and I wasn't dilating like I should have been. If I had it to do all over again I wouldn't get induced, but everyones experience is different and I hope you have a good one. I am really not trying to scare you, and I am sorry if I have.

After having three children all arrive before their due dates I was way too anxious to have my fourth!!! I was 2 days past my due date and my dr. agreed to induce (I had been begging her to do it for almost a month)!!! First she stripped my membranes and told me to come in later that night if labor did not start. Well it didn't, so when I got to the hospital the started me on pitocin and eventually broke my water. I absolutely do not want to scare you because I know how it feels to" just want to have the baby already." But Don't Do It!!!! That was absolutely the labor form Hell!!!!! The epidural didn't take, labor lasted 12 hours and I ended up having a c-section!! My second and third labors lasted only a few hours and I had no medication at all, I wasn't induced, I didn't need an epidural(or have time for one) not even an aspirin, they were easy!! I was literally expecting my fourth to just slide out!! :) NOT!!!!! I got through it obviously, but I would never ever be induced by choice again!!! That was just my experience though everyone is different!!! I would advice to try and wait it out!! Whatever you decide Good Luck!!

I have been induced with all three of my children. With my first, my water broke at home so they had me go to the hospital. My labor was not progressing as well as it should have so they gave me a Pitocin drip that helped speed things up some, but the labor was 23 hours. The second labor I was induced with Pitocin because I was two weeks late, and then a couple hours later the doctor broke my water and went home when I was six centimeters. Then I went from six to ten in ten minutes and the nurses had to deliver her. My son, my third child was a week late. I went into labor naturally, but did not progress well after several hours of hard labor. They gave me a Pitocin drip and broke my water. My labor with him was 28 hours. I remember with my first daughter that they had a hard time putting the IV in my arm for the drip, and then it kept falling out. Every one says that Induced labor is worse, but it is all that I have known...and even though it hurt I think that all labors do! I did not have any side effects from the Pitocin.

I was induced with waters ruptured then given the drip. Labor came on fast but it also got over fast so no complaints. I felt like I was in labor. Uncomfortable but not too bad. I don't know about side effects. I LOVED being induced and will be induced with this one (my last) if needs be. Hope this helps.

there may be side effects from some of the drugs they use with the epidural, the gel that is used on the cervix may cause some stinging, the actual rupturing of the membranes is not that painful but labor usually progresses fast after

It felt a little weird... labor comes on quickly (but i was still in for 8 hours) having my water ruptured was odd... like i said it is weird (but that's just me... i don't like the idea of some guy (trained for this kind of thing or not) that i barely know poking around down there)

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

i was induced with an IV, the first time it didnt work, you dont really feel anything until the labor begins, just make sure you rest and relax because you dont want to over tire yourself because you never know when it will come. Also, when your contractions begin they can put a pain reliver right into your iv i cant remember the name, but it works instantly and you dont really feel anything.

My scientific institution continually supplies cervidil pills first formerly the iv drip of pitocin, i grew to become into precipitated yet didnt want the pitocin labor grew to become into 4 hrs in user-friendly terms 10 minutes of pushin no longer everybody has a bad experience with being precipitated, and no it doesnt continually bring about c sec. some women persons will say they did yet thats them and prefer me unwell tell u that I didnt. yet we don't kno how your physique will react to the induction. Induction make labor in many circumstances harder then while ur physique does it itself yet you have the choice of drugs to help the discomfort. sturdy success do no longer difficulty labor might come formerly u want an induction.
