If you can do yourself a really HUGE favor, find some King's X tracks. If guitar solos are what you're looking for you're going to love this band-- if you haven't already heard them.

A MASSIVE-SOUNDING power trio, they've been around for nearly 20 years mostly as an indie band.

Do a search for Ty Tabor-- the guitarist. He's hot and to me the no. 1 MOST underrated guitarist of all time.

I agree with all of the above and would add some other guitar greats in rock I would suggest Jimi Hendrix, Ted Nugent, and Van Halen. However, some of the best guitar work ever, in my opinion, is to be found in the blues. BB King and Leslie West come to mind right away.

Check out Randy Rhodes who played with Ozzy's Blizzard of Ozz - especially Mr Crowley, Revelation (Mother Earth) and Over the Mountain.
