I went to the site of our local animal shelet & copied pictures of the dogs needing homes,,a friend of mine saw these & brought them to work with her at a local diner.She said that the people were really caring & many were interested.I checked with the site last night and it stated that about 10 were adopted this week (never saw that in print before) ,,Im soooo happy,,we are making a difference :O) I am adding a page of the cats next week also.

That's a great idea. Our local paper runs a spotlight on the animal shelter once a week, featuring a different animal up for adoption. A lot get adopted that way. We also do an eat for Pete night. Local restaurants agree to donate a portion of profits from all that days meals to the animal shelter.(Pete is the spokesdog). We also do "Rummage for Ruffus". A big garage sale where everyone in the community donates stuff, and all the profits go to the animal shelter.
