Can you name a tv series or film that you watched when you were younger, that you thought was so exciting and the effects were brilliant-that you kept going on about how good it was, only for it to come back on to you feel totally embarassed and made you cringe

I'd have to agree with "Battlestar Galactica". I TiVoed the original recently, and was horrified!
I also downloaded "The Time Tunnel" from Amazon recently, and had the same douche chills as from BG.

No offense, but I grew up in the 50's and 60's. Everything I watched had "exciting" special effects - even the Blob (well, maybe not Godzilla or that stupid Tarantula). Then technology grew up and we got Jurassic Park and Independence Day. Although I watched ID this weekend and realized that although the effects were good, the acting was generally pretty terrible, not because of the actors, but because those were some of the lamest lines I've ever heard.

Yeah the Dukes of Hazzard. I thought Bo and Luke Duke were just the coolest red neck rebel guys that there were. And the way they would jump those hills and over other cars and such stunts with the General Lee were totally awesome. And when me and my brother were little we would try to slide across mama's car like they did and jump through the window like they would do. I can't hardly even watch that silly show now. It comes on CMT now and my boys love to watch it, lol. Funny how things change when you get older and watch those shows now huh. Just some good ole boys! LOL!

The original "Battlestar Galactica" from the late 70s looked pretty lame when I saw it again 20 years later....in it's time, the effects seemed pretty cool.

i liked watching 'masters of the universe' and the effects were pretty cool for back then, but now i feel silly watching it!!!
