The Athlon 1700+ weighs about 2 ounces, or there abouts.
The case with powersupply, motherboard, hard drive and everything else could weigh 8kgs up to 15 kgs. Usually a store purchased computer is VERY light weight because they only have 1 hd drive, 1 cdrom and a lightweight powersupply as well as a small compact case. You can expect to be a little on the light side compared to a home built machine where there are usually 2 hd's, 2 cdrom drives and a powerfull powersupply all placed in a full tower case.

With all that said you would probably average 10kgs for a store purchased machine.

That IS a rediculous question. The weight would depend more on what type of case the processor is mounted in. Why anyone would believe that one of the smallest components of the machine would be any indication of its weight is beyond me.

The manufacturer probably knows the exact weight as they will be paying for the precise shipping cost and charging you a flat fee.

If you are talking Shipping Weight, they vary, of course you did not mention whether it has a monitor, keyboard ,mouse, extra hard drives, speakers, extra optical drives, what brand it is, whether or not it is small form factor, etc. But, I have shipped several towers ONLY, and they usually weigh about 25 to 35 pounds. If memory serves me correctly 1 pound = 2.2 kilograms so do the math yourself.

Aluminum or steel case?

If you go to the store website you are wanting to purchase from, or can find a similar make and model, the shipping calculator will show the weight.

I have to pick them up all the time to service them, and they weigh from 15 to 28 pounds...

There is no way to answer that question. Weight will vary a lot depending on the case type and material of construction (business microatx case versus server type full tower, steel aluminum, plastic, etc.).
