My mom likes the orginal one when Luke sees Obi-Wan Kenobi, Yoda & his father (as an old man) watching him. I think Sebatian Shaw is his name. The newer version has Hayden Christianen (the actor from the first 3) in the "apparition" at the end. I don't know why like that one better, Maybe it/s b/c he's cuter or since that's what "Anakin" looked like b4 becoming Darth Vader, his physical image died with him. At least that's how Lucas explained it.

All the ppl who say I'm stupid for liking the Hayden Christiansen b/c he's cute & the ending better can flush themselves down the toilet! I like cute guys not shrivled up olf farts..if you don't like my opinion : shove it!

The Hayden Christiansen one is better in my opinion too. I think it is better to show him as the "good" Anakin not the one that has been tainted by evil of the Darkside. (Also not to sound shallow but I too much rather look at Hayden Christiansen's hot self than the old and busted one Skywalker) Also in response to the other user who said Anakin being cuter is not a reason to like it better yes it is. Hayden being more aesthetically pleasing is a reason and men use this reason all the time)

It is not a question of which ending is "better". George Lucas made quite a few changes in the original trilogy, to fit with the technology (SFX) used for SW 1, 2 and 3. Some hated it, some loved. I liked the old version, but I saw some good points in the new one. But everybody has to answer this question for himself/herself.

I prefer the original with the old Anakin. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and have a hard time with change I guess.

It's always best to leave perfection alone. I think the Anikin from the prequels was a dweeb and should have been left out of an originally fine film.

The original is the best. That´s the way he looks when he died, and give us a better depiction of a father figure. Remember: "Luke, Luke, I´m your father".
