We are about 15 minutes away from it.
Words are being banned, property is being taken away, new weapons bans are being proposed, the right to life is null and void, the government has a monopoly on educating or kids, political correctness is cause enough to take children from homes medicate adults and subject them to re-programming.

We have about 15 minutes. Now about 14.

Its done. Once we all agree to the UN global tax we're done and dead. Global socialism is the ultimate goal and its right on track.

Since 9/11 the government passed in 2001 the US Patriot Act. I believe it has been renewed each year in February since 2001. Ok, the masses are being hit with the demolition of the US Constitution and believe it or not it is planned that way and that demolition is coming about in a very organized way! We literally gave up our rights for privacy in our lives. Think about it ... the government snoops in our PC's and then knocks down doors to get in and snatch what we may have on it. They have access to our medical records, our library cards and our bank records. We have already been referred to as culprets by our government - the government we have given limited power to - but now the government holds all the cards - and we are standing there naked and bare. The government has so much power and authority it is scary. You ask about whether America is close to being a communist country. We aren't there yet, but it won't be too long before one could say we are communist. Communist is defined as "A system of government in which the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people.
The Marxist-Leninist version of Communist doctrine that advocates the overthrow of capitalism by the revolution of the proletariat."

We need to take back our country and do it quickly or we will lose everything we hold dear. Party politics - better to think and research candidates rather than vote a party line. So you might say my Dad voted Republican since birth, I will follow suit. You better study and research candidates before an election. What did the politician do in his/her last candidacy? Also, the words liberal and conservativism don't exist. Do some research and study, study, and study more before you vote!

Not yet, because right now, we're just in a FASCIST DICTATORSHIP. If you're wondering, well our president says that he is above the law and that there's nothing congress can do to stop him. That by defination is dictatorship. The fascism part is that Big Corporations are going hand in hand with Government to fund them and help in the decision making process to better profit both.

Here's a few good quotes for everyone:

"Those Who Sacrifice Liberty For Security Deserve Neither." -- Benjamin Franklin
"The great masses of the people will more easily fall victims to a big lie then to a small one" -- Adolf Hitler
"The individual is handicapped by coming face-to-face with a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists." -- J. Edgar Hoover
"Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.
"In times of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act." -- George Orwell

Communism refers to the economic system. Socialism refers to the politics. We are well on the way to a socialist America. The majority of people now cannot do well or survive without dictates from the government. They need healthcare, financial incentives via tax codes, education, personal protection - to mention a few - that the free American who built this country never expected. The more people need to depend on their government the more freedoms they lose in the name of safety and security, or at least, the illusions of these.

Could I suggest changing one word in your question : a 'totalitarian' country. If we agree to this then I can answer that it is only an election away.

A long way, a very long way. If you doubt it, read Alexander Solzhenitsyn, especially 'The Gulag Archipelago'.
