There are five ways to make kids listen to you:

1) Disgust them.

Show them pictures of smoker with cancer and body damage.

2) Disgust them.

Get a copy of Michael Moore's "TV Nation". In the episode where he criticized tobacco companies, he talked to several cancer patients (several of whom are _still_ addicted to tobacco) who had damage and throat boxes. At the "christmas" meeting of the company, Moore had these people singing christmas carols; the cancer merchants were VERY upset about it.

3) Disgust them.

Show them slide after slide after slide of athletes. Very few athletes promote or use tobacco, and none at the highest levels of competitive sport. Show them that if they want to be successful in sports - and elsewhere - they shouldn't smoke.

4) Disgust them.

People are less likely to date someone who smokes. Nothing will put off a teenager more than knowing they'll be unpopular.

You can also talk about career options, that they might not be able to get/want/take certain jobs because of "no smoking rules", that they will also be less likely to get jobs (medical insurance, lower productivity, personal appearance, bad breath, etc.).

But here's part of the problem (for your own edification):

> Children who start dating before their teens are at least twice as likely
> as other youngsters to become smokers, researchers said on Friday.

5) Disgust them.

Just as some people take kids to prisons to meet hardened criminals and (hopefully) scare them straight, try (with the parents' permission) forcing the kids to sit in a poorly ventilated room for an hour with a bunch of chain smokers and see if they like it. Don't let them leave and make them realize how disgusting it is for them is how disgusting it is for others around them.

a picture of a human skeleton with a cigar on the mouth.in this case they will be afraid even to taste a cigarette.no need for words simple when they see that, that means that what will happen to them if they will smoke.

Talk to your local coroner.

Bring in a blackened lung.

Reality is stronger than slogans.
